New Name for SEI

.

SEI Sustainable Energy Ireland
becomes
Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI)

Sustainable Energy Ireland has just had a name transplant and it now becomes Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).

The trumpet blowing exercise included the announcement of a five year plan that is supposed to add €6bn to the Irish economy along with the creation of some 5,000 and 10,000 new jobs each year. (Maybe another couple of thousand BER Assessors - and how about a few thousand pen pushers too??)

With the name transplant, I sincerely hope that (SEAI) also gets a badly needed BRAIN transplant.

It actually always was legally SEAI. Not sure on the history as to why the 'A' was dropped though, but their legal title held in Government offices was always SEAI.
